Overall, snowpack stability has deteriorated! On the one hand, this is due to a faceted layer beneath a weak rain crust (thin ice lamella) at what was the snow surface before the heavy snowfalls. The second problem, a layer of depth-hoar-type crystals, lies quite deep in the snowpack and, unlike the upper layer, is not so significant for ski tourers!
