In January I observed large slab avalanches directly in the area of the ascent to the summit of the Schafgrübler. The snowpack tests carried out revealed the poor structure (several layers of very different hardness, with faceted snow from constructive metamorphism in between). Accordingly, the compression test also came out badly.
Since the summit flank has not yet released, the poor condition of the old snowpack is still present there and presumably correspondingly prone to triggering!
