In the afternoon, in brilliant sunshine, up to just below the Horntaler Joch; then Christmas Eve by moonlight at the hut. Up here the quiet season was still everywhere!
The snow conditions are quite demanding – powder, wind crust and melt-freeze crust, there's a bit of everything. Anyone looking for a dream descent is in the wrong place here!
