An impressive mountain hike up into the 3000-metre region is the hike on the Vier-Gletscherweg to the Aperer Turm! Requirements: Fitness: high, long hike at relatively high altitude! Technical difficulty: low, only the last few metres to the summit are exposed and secured with a steel cable! Time required: from the hut to the summit approx. 4 hours, roughly the same time for the return!
Route description: From the hut, initially flat to the head of the valley (1 hr.) Now not onto the orographic left lateral moraine as is often described, but on the new access path to the glacier tongue of the Alpeiner Ferner until shortly before Alpeiner Ferner 1 (1 hr.) Continue following the signposts and waymarks for 2 hours to the summit at 2986m
