What you should know!
Approach time from the hut to the start of the route 2 1/2 to 3 hours! Climbing time 4 to 5 hours! Descent time from the summit to the hut around 3 hours! So you should plan roughly 11 hours for the tour. Although the climbing route is reasonably well equipped with bolts, it keeps its serious alpine character. In total there are 18 pitches of varying length. The difficulties vary considerably! Climbed free, the crux is certainly grade 6, but it can largely be climbed AO as well. The descent first follows the west ridge until you come across cairns that lead to the abseil point down to the Lüsenser Ferner. The first 2 abseils (approx. 15m) are from bolts. The third had to be set up provisionally due to the severe glacier retreat recently! Crampons are currently necessary on the Lüsenser Ferner! On the ascent to the Rinnennieder there is currently a risk of rockfall from debris lying on the ice!
